iPhone gets Copy and Paste

Just not from Apple

One of the most universally criticised features of the iPhone has been fixed, well sort of.

College student Zac White has teamed up with another iPhone app developer to launch a non-profit open source system that will allow other developers to add copy and paste functionality to their applications without breaking the strict Apple SDK rules.

Although not sanctioned by Apple and not currently available in any Apple applications, it's not a priority after all, White is hoping that the feature, which works by letting applications save copy to a shared area on the phone will be embraced and become defacto allowing users to copy words and URLs between apps.

The community project called OpenClip is available to any iPhone developer free of charge.
