120GB Zune heading to US

FCC spills the beans yet again

Microsoft will announce a new 120GB Zune player in the coming months if the filing for the new sized player is anything to go on according to the FCC in America.

The government organisation, which also happened to spill the beans on the new HTC Dream today, has confirmed that Microsoft plans to launch a bigger Zune player in the US shortly.

According to reports, the new Zune, which currently comes in hard drive flavours up to 80GB, will keep the same casing and the same software version, but increase the storage capacity for music fans looking to get up towards the 160GB currently offered by Apple in the iPod classic.

No details for our American friends on pricing, although some commentators are suggesting around the $300.

Of course all this is theoretical to us here in Blighty. Microsoft has yet to announce the Zune for the UK.
