Maplin is going against Asus, Acer and so many others in launching its own mini PC.

The Minibook is being described as a stylish, lightweight travel notebook "that is tailor-made for business use or pleasure".

It features a seven inch screen, offers word processing and spreadsheet options and provides built-in Wi-Fi technology.

Also worth a mention are the built in-speakers, microphone and touch-pad mouse, and 2GB flash storage drive.

It also supports SD cards and USB sticks up to 4GB, to give users the freedom to easily expand its storage.

The new Minibook (quick-search product code: A98HX) is available from Maplin for £169.99 until 02 September when the price will go up to £219.99.
