Samsung Messager debuts Stateside

Comes with slideout Qwerty keyboard

Samsung has launched a new mobile phone in the US called the Samsung Messager (SCH-R450) that features a slide out Qwerty keyboard for people who want to "Message" on the go.

Clearly not able to bag the product name "Messenger" the new pocketable pseudo smartphone will be available in black and come with a 1.3 megapixel camera.

The usual array of SMS, MMS, email and IM messaging capabilities, advanced voice recognition, Bluetooth, an external micro SD slot and a 2.1-inch 262K TFT 176 x 220 pixel screen are all present, although the press release sent out in America doesn't state whether or not this handset will sport 3G connectivity (unlikely).

We are awaiting confirmation from Samsung UK as to whether we'll be lucky enough to get "Messaged."
