Tesco launches cheap portable DAB radio

• Please avoid anything electrical branded Tesco's, I have had Tesco's items from their own range, including their so called 'pro' range. Every one (EVERY SINGLE ONE) has been broken out of the box, or within a very short time. In the last 15 months, a cordless mouse that never worked, a wireless keyboard that the bottom row stopped working 7 days later, a tv/dvd with a broken remote out of the box and the replacement that ground to a DVD halt within 4 hours of use. A DVD player that also ground to a halt within 12 hours of use. The most dispiriting thing is that the tesco staff are never surprised and when i ask why something should break down so quickly or be non-functional when sold, they just shrug, and one told me, maybe tellingly, that they are never checked at the factory. I suspect that Tesco adjusts the price of branded goods to make its own brands appear better value, but for me I have wasted enough time returning things and now buy known brands, particularly Phillips and logitech, whose goods are usually only 20% or so more and crucially, NEVER break down. You are probably wondering why I persisted in buying Tesco's stuff when it kept on going wrong, mostly it was because I couldn't believe that I had such a run of bad luck, but I now believe that tesco buy the cheapest of the cheapest items from inevitably factories with the poorest workign conditions in China, badges them and sells them just under their branded range. Where else could you buy a 45p Chinese mouse for £4 as part of their 'value' range. Posted by Bob H, UK
