Handsfree earphones

Etymotic Research has announced its hf2 handsfree headset that offers noise isolation technology.

The company says the hf2s "combine the sound quality of the ER-4P earphones with a well designed microphone and end/send switch to make it the ideal companion for the iPhone."

The hf2’s are compatible with all iPod models for music and with other music players and mobile phones that accept a 3.5mm stereo plug.

The hf2s offer the ability to take calls and speak via the microphone that is apparently situated much closer to the mouth than normal because of shortened cables compared to other manufacturers.

Using the headset, music mutes and pauses automatically for an incoming call and picks up again when the call ends.

The hf2’s are available online at www.etymotic.com and will be available at Apple stores soon £99.95.
