If man's best friend is a dog and Asimov's Laws of Robotics state that a robot can't harm a human, then this thing is possibly the best thing to happen to humankind in ages.

BigDog is Boston Dynamics robotic load carrier and you have to see it to believe what this fella can do.

And don't worry if you feel a bit sorry for it when they try to kick it over - the movement is so animal-like you can't help yourself.

BigDog is financed by the military so don't be surprised to see it in news reels of the future. (They might need to work on a stealthy motor though - it sounds like a dozen runaway chainsaws...)

Amazing.
