iPhone game developer gets cash boost
Former EA poncho gets support for new venture

A company called ngmoco which is going to develop games for the Apple iPhone has been given a massive financial boost.The company, which is the brainchild of a former bigwig at Electronic Arts (EA) has won funding from venture capital firm Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers.
Former Blueprint boss for EA, Neil Young, who is a games veteran of 11 years, is to use the funding to collaborate with game makers on creating and acquiring games for the iPhone.
On the ngmoco (which stands for Next Generation MObile COmpany) website, Young is now advertising for producers, client and network engineers, web application developers, as well as gamemakers.
While the company seems to initially be focusing on games for the iPhone, Young promises expansion to "that class of mobile phone" – so all mobiles with touch screen, network connectivity, and perhaps an accelerometer.
