Contradicting apparent leaks from 9to5Mac that Apple is prepping a multi-coloured new nano, iLounge reports that the new model will instead look like Microsoft's flash-based Zune, with a return to the longer design of the original nano.

It's rumoured to offer a vertically tall oriented display with a click wheel underneath, and is said to get the same 1.5:1 widescreen aspect ratio as the iPhone and iPod touch, with the design meaning you'll rotate the device to watch videos on it.

iLounge's unidentified sources (who are apparently "extremely confident" in these assertions) say that a single-colored anodized aluminum frame will apparently be used, with each nano offered in one colour.

  • I was expecting the credit card form factor of the curent model but with a landscape screen covering the entirity of it. Opting for the touch screen interface of the iPhone/iTouch over the click wheel. Posted by L.Rawlins, UK
