With the amount of leaks around Nokia's first mass-market touchscreen phone hitting the interweb, it has almost got to the point where there is little left to the imagination.

As well as these live pictures, that show a somewhat lack-lustre looking interface, the specs for this device - that seems to have been granted a cameo in the latest Batman movie - have been fleshed out somewhat too.

Measuring in at 111 x 52 x 14.5mm and weighing 104 grams, that touchscreen is a 3.2-inch, 16 million colour TFT LCD effort with a 640 x 360 pixel resolution and a 16:9 display mode.

As well as touch, the screen is said to boast haptic feedback that will give users a tiny force feedback buzz when they hit an icon or the like.

Other features include an iPhone-beating 3.2-megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss options and autofocus and a dual LED flash.

The 5800 XpressMusic is said to also get built-in GPS, 3.5mm audio jack and TV-out. In addition, connectivity looks comprehensive with GSM, GPRS, EDGE, WCDMA, HSDPA as well as WLAN and Bluetooth.

There is still no official word from Nokia on this exact handset, although the company did recently issue a statement saying:

"Our first touch device will be aimed solidly at the 'mid-range' or 'volume' part of the market. This device will be competitively spec-ed - especially considering the price point and will be announced in a few months."

  • Looks pretty unimpressive to me. Plus I always found the symbian OS pretty sluggish to say the least. Posted by JamesW, UK
