Creative has announced the Creative Zen "Mozaic" portable media player for music, photos and video.

Apparently inspired by "the artistic expressions of mosaic art", (rather than, say, the local lido) Creative says the new player makes a bold design statement. Which it certainly does.

The Mozaic comes complete with an built-in speaker, a 1.8-inch LCD colour screen, FM radio and voice recorder.

Measuring 79.5 x 40 x 12.8mm, a single charge of the battery will support up to 32 hours of audio playback.

The player supports MP3, WMA, WMA-DRM 10 and Audible as well as JPEG for pics and will come with the new Creative Centrale application which organises and tags music, photos and video, creates playlists and transcodes video to the necessary proprietary video format.

Available in silver, pink and black, models available are 2GB for £50, 4GB for £60 and 8GB for £80, all on sale at the start of August. A 16GB model will be available after the summer.
