Samsung has launched its Series 7 plasma HDTVs featuring Samsung's "Touch of Color" designed bezel.
Poetically described as "born from the craftsmanship behind delicately blown glass to the balanced beauty of a sunset", the ToC design basically features a hint of red on a black bezel.
More importantly, the Series 7 plasma HDTVs deliver a full HD1080p picture with up to a 1,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio with the option to calibrate the tellies for day-time and night-time viewing.
There's also anti-glare tech, DNIe Pro video processing and 18-bit "Natural True Color" as well as (bearing in mind this is a US launch) InfoLink RSS service powered by content from USA Today.
Connections-wise, there's a side-mounted USB 2.0 port, four HDMI 1.3 inputs, CEC networking, DNLA compatibility, WiseLink Pro for MP3 and JPEG file playback as well as XviD and MPEG4.
The Samsung Series 7 Plasma HDTVs will be available in the States in August in 50-inch, 58-inch and 63-inch screen sizes from $2799.99, No pricing or release date for the UK has yet been given.
