Samsung goes big with 102in television at IFA 2005
Samsung launch 102in Plasma and 85in LCD tv

Sharp and Panasonic may be happy to boast 65in LCD and Plasma models at this years IFA 2005 show, however Samsung has gone one better. At the show its showing off the world's largest plasma display panel (PDP) TV at 102in and the world's largest TFT-LCD TV at 82in.The 102in PDP TV is the world's largest plasma display panel television. Its progressive scanning capability offers a smooth video playback with high contrast ratio.
The HDTV 102in PDP TV features the latest in Samsung' (Digital Natural Image engine) technology.
The 102” PDP TV features custom tallboy style speakers and a matching specialized component rack. The television also includes built-in SRS TruSurround XT Sound System.
Samsung's new 82in TFT-LCD TV offers less than 8 ms response time. With 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution and 16:9 screen ratio, Samsung's 82in LCD TV supports 1080 progressive scanning, the highest possible HDTV resolution offering twice the picture quality of a 1080 interlaced display.
The resulting image is exceptionally crisp and vibrant, with brightness of 500 nits (cd/m2), a contrast ratio of 8000:1 and 92% color gamut for the NTSC standard. Due to the built-in HDMI port, Samsung's 82” TFT-LCD TV can also function as a computer display.
