Television sees the big picture at IFA 2005

65in LCD and Plasma models on their way

Television it seems is only going to get bigger as both Panasonic and Sharp announce 65in models at IFA 2005 this year.

Sharp has opted for LCD technology, while Panasonic has opted for Plasma. Both models will be HD ready.

The visible measure of the Panasonic model will be a whopping 165cm and have a contrast ratio of 3000:1. The television will also sport a SD card for viewing images.

The Sharp model will also promise a viewing screen diagonal of 165cm. Its contrast ratio will be 800:1 and it will also feature a resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels.

The sharp model will retail in the UK for around £14,000.
