IWOOT launches the Eco-Button

Power-saving gizmo for your PC

16 July 2008 11:23 GMT / By Amy-Mae Elliott

The Eco-Button plugs into a USB port and, if you give it a tap every time you have to leave your desk, it will switch your computer over to eco-mode.

The claim is that Eco Button makes sure that your PC and monitor draw as little power as possible while you're away from your machine.

As well as showing you how many carbon units you've saved when you reactivate the PC, the Eco Button software will also show you how much cash would have been spent if you'd left the computer on.

Available now from online emporium IWOOT, the 5.5cm by 1.5cm eco gadget is £14.99.
