Kodak breaks into HD home cinema market
Introducing the Theatre HD Player

10 July 2008 9:59 GMT / By Katie Scott
Following on from the announcement of a whole suite of HD products, including a camcorder and digital camera, Kodak has rounded the announcements off by unveiling a new home cinema device.
The Kodak Theatre HD Player is an interactive device that displays personal and web-based content on an HDTV, while wirelessly connecting to a household’s private Wi-Fi Network.
It is able to display HD still images (16:9 aspect ratio) and video (720p) on a HDTV.
It also allows users to relive memories through a HD slideshow, as well as edit and upload images and videos to online content sharing sites.
Kodak has also tied up with Flickr, and its own Kodak Gallery so that users can use the device to share images with friends.
And they can also get new content from FrameChannel, a service of Frame Media, YouTube and RadioTime.
The KODAK Theatre HD Player is also compatible with USB drives and SD memory cards.
No price or UK launch date though.
