MoMA in New York gets unofficial podcast audio tour

Musuem audio tours get interactive

28 August 2005 18:40 GMT / By Stuart Miles

An American website is asking its readers for help producing an unofficial audio guide for the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York that users will then be able to download as a podcast and listen to on their way around.

According to http://www.tuaw.com/ who first reported the story, the podcasts contain much of the same factual information available in the official MoMA audio tours, though in a much more relaxed, less stodgy tone.

Readers who aren't in NYC are still invited to join in by talking about their favourite painting featured on the MoMA website.

The Art Mobs site has even attached pictures of the art to the MP3 files so listeners can experience the guides on your computer or iPod Photo.
