A new exclusive PS3 application called "Life with PlayStation" has been demonstrated by Sony exec Kaz Hirai.

The application certainly has more than a hint of Google Earth about it, with a spinning globe which presents weather and up-to-date news headlines from around the world.

Stories are available in their entirety by clicking the headline, and users can even choose their own musical accompaniment to listen to whilst browsing.

It has also been suggested that later versions of the application will allow location specific geo-tagged images to be browsed, but that remains to be seen.
