Dell confirms Studio Hybrid desktop
"Anywhere-you-want-it-desktop"
29 July 2008 0:00 GMT / By Chris Hall
Dell has confirmed the Studio Hybrid, possibly the worst kept of secrets, with pictures and stories appearing across the Internet in previous months.
Appealing to their consumer customers, Dell have shifted focus to exterior design, moving away from dull silver-grey exteriors, to create the Studio Hybrid, a mini desktop PC, coming in a choice of six colours, with interchangeable covers. It is also configurable to stand vertically or horizontally.
Details are thin on the ground at the moment, prices are still to be released, and full specs have not been confirmed, but suggested specs are an Intel processor, up to 4GB RAM, 320GB hard drive, and a host of connectivity, including Wi-Fi, HDMI, DVI, Ethernet, IEEE 1394/FireWire, optical SPDIF, a stack of USBs and a card reader.
Dell boast that the Studio Hybrid has "Sleek and Stylish Design", in a space-saving format, 80% smaller than your average desktop. It is also claimed that it will use 70% less power than a typical desktop.
Of course, we will bring you more details as they become available.
