Samsung has announced the launch of the Samsung "Sleek", a new handset also known as the U800, which the company says "embodies sophisticated design with simple functionality and excellent performance".

The Sleek is a candybar handset with a metallic brushed finish, apparently designed to suit "the needs of a wide range of mobile users who use their phone for business, entertainment and everything in between".

There's 3.2Mbps HSDPA connectivity, Bluetooth, HTML browsing, a 2-inch QVGA display, 1GB internal memory plus microSD and a document viewer.

The Sleek also offers a 3-megapixel camera with Power LED flash and video plus a music player, video editor, FM radio and 3.5mm headphone jack.

The Samsung Sleek will launch in the UK in July with operators and pricing info yet to be confirmed.
