Samsung sells a million Souls

Flagship handset beats iPhone in first month sales

Samsung has sold one million of its flagship "Soul" mobile phones, reports Telecoms Korea following a statement received from Samsung.

The phone has done particularly well in the UK, where the first 2 week's sales were 80,000 units and overall 280,000 handsets have been shifted.

German sales are also healthy exceeding 150,000 units, apparently partly thanks to some marketing with German football player Michael Ballack.

This means the phone has sold better in this early stage than the iPhone managed in the first quarter of the year, when Apple sold 1.7 million units in 3 months.

Samsung plans to now launch the phone in China, Southeast Asia, and Russia as well as in their home market of South Korea which will obviously boost sales figures even more dramatically.

Phones4U announced last week that they are offering a shocking pink version of the Soul.
