NEC introduces projector duo - the NP905 and NP01W

Full-featured, network-compatible models

NEC has announced two new video projectors, the NP905 and NP01W.

At 3000 lumens and 2000 lumens, respectively, the NP905 and NP901W projectors include Windows Network Projector functionality within Windows Vista, which means users can share information from their laptops or desktops via a wired or wireless network "without the need for proprietary software".

Remote desktop connection enables these projectors to connect to a networked computer remotely, allowing control of the remote computer with the connection of a USB mouse and keyboard directly to the projector’s USB input.

And the remote diagnostics tools means that the user can also monitor and make adjustments to the projector remotely via a network.

Other features worth a mention include the geometric correction tool, which allows users to project on spheres, cylinders and more without distortion, as well as colour management facilities, which automatically adjust for the specific input type, whether it is a presentation, movie or graphics.

They both boast HDMI inputs for high-definition video content, as well as an audio input for every allotted video input.

Additionally, the NP905 and NP901W include closed captioning capability for the hearing impaired and a direct power off feature, which provides instantaneous shutdown of the projector.

The NP905 and NP901W will be available next month for an around $1999.99 and $1299.99, respectively.
