Aussies queue for country's first Apple store

Apple goes antipodean

At the new Apple Store in Sydney, Australia, people have already started to queue for the official opening at 5pm Thursday night.

Australians Rochelle Quantock and Moyzsckya Belle are the two heading up the line and will brave "winter" temperatures of 13 degrees tonight in order to enjoy the privilege of being first through the glass doors tomorrow.

Coming from further afield, 72-year-old Mike Kauffman, from Santa Cruz in the US, flew into Sydney just to attend the store opening - as he has done for between 20 to 30 Apple store launches previous.

This is the first official Apple store to open in Australia. The glass-fronted store cost an estimated $15 million and will be the second largest Apple retail space in the world.
