Oregon Scientific are pitching their new "super slim" walkie talkies, the TP391s, as the perfect way to stay in touch during summer activities, for the grand total of £49.99.

Whether camping, at festivals, or even on a city break, the company says their pocket-friendly dimensions, 18-hour battery life, 10 polyphonic ringtones, 5 kilometre range and 8 channels mean they are a cheaper alternative to mobile phone calls.
