Vodafone, one of the operators to offer the iPhone 3G in Italy, has become the first carrier in the world revealed its pre-pay pricing for the device.
In what should give at least an idea to what should be expected costs-wise around the world, the price of the device - so unsubsidised without a contract - will come in at 499 euros for the 8GB model and 569 euros for the 16GB version.
With today's exchange rate this converts to £395, or $770, for the 8GB-er and £450 - or $875 - for the larger model.
In the UK, consumers will be able to get their sticky mitts on an iPhone 3G from O2 for absolutely nada - as long as they sign up for a £45 a month, 18-month long tariff. We are awaiting Pay & Go pricing.
