Internet goes into meltdown

Apple iPhone fever reaches maximum overload as the world and his dog tune in to see what Steve Jobs et al have to launch.

And not surprisingly, Hitwise the internet monitoring service has confirmed that the tech news site and blogs, like Pocket-lint have reached "fever pitch".

"Last week UK Internet visits to the iPhone website reached a new high. In fact, there were over twice the number of visits last week than during any of previous peaks, including the initial announcement, UK launch and recent price cut", said Hitwise in one of its blogs.

Since the beginning of the month the www.apple.com/iphone has taken 1.15% of UK internet traffic.

Will the news calm? Will see what Jobs launches...
