A whole new world!

Google Earth members can now take a detailed 3D tour of Walt Disney World Resort.

Around 100,000 photos were taken to create the 1500 three-dimensional models that populate the virtual tour.

During the project's first phase, eight photographers worked for 10 days to shoot all the visible surfaces of Walt Disney World, including every building.

The resulting images show all four of the resort's theme parks as well as hotels.

Disney and Google are hoping that the maps will not only prove popular with Mickey fans, but also help families when they are planning a trip to, or even a holiday in the resort.

"Guests and travel planners can now explore our world with just a few clicks of a mouse, and they can book vacations while being immersed in what the destination has to offer", says Jay Rasulo, chairman of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, in a statement.
