Microsoft has launched a Facebook updates tab for Windows Live Messenger users, allowing them to stay connected to Facebook goings-on via Microsoft's messenging service.

A UK-exclusive, there is no need to download or install anything, simply click on the tab with the Facebook logo on the left side of your Messenger window.

Connecting to Facebook through Messenger allows users to update their status, stay connected to their friends on Facebook, browse photos, poke, message or write on their friends' wall and invite friends to Messenger.

The service is now live on Windows Live Messenger. Facebook's own instant messenging service, Facebook Chat, recently went live in the UK, letting users webchat online whilst on the social networking site.
