BT and the like may be promising broadband connection speeds of 24Mbps but according to a new report, the UK is lagging behind.The State of the Internet report includes a list of the top ten fastest countries in the world in terms of the speeds citizens can expect when they log in.
And the UK isn't even in the top ten, despite having the sixth highest internet take-up in the world.
Leading the way at the moment is South Korea "with nearly 64% of connections to Akamai [the company which carried out the report] occurring at over 5MB/s".
Top techie nation Japan come in second followed by Chinese protectorate Hong Kong.
Back to Europe for the fourth, fifth and sixth places, which were Sweden, Romania nd Belgium.
The US came in seventh place followed by the Netherland, Nepal in a surprise ninth place and finally, at number ten, Norway. Software, Online, Broadband, Websites
