It beats solitare for those bored moments

It might be almost impossible to control, but thanks to the chaps over at iPodLinux.org you can now play the classic first-person shooter that paved the way for a genre on the PC; Doom, on your iPod.

The Doom download has been designed to be played on iPod Photo, and the controls couldn't be easier, although you will need to be nimble fingered.

Rewind and Fast-forward will move you left and right while the Menu button wil move you forward. The Play key doubles up as shoot.

The download will even let you load and save during a game so you can come back for more action later.

The game originally made its debut on the MP3 player in 16 shades of grey for the original iPod and iPod mini last year, however the latest version takes advantage of the iPod's new colour screen.
