Three new smartphones have been unveiled by T-Mobile.

First up is the MDA Compact IV – which bloggers are suggesting is a variant of the HTC Touch Diamond.

It has a 3D interface shown on a high-resolution 640 x 480 screen, and is the second device to use Windows Mobile 6.1.

It is also HSDPA-enabled, supporting 7.2 Mbps downstream, and 1.4Mbps upload, and has a 3.2 megapixel camera with 4GB of internal flash storage.

Next up is the Vario IV, which has a slide-out side keyboard with a full QWERTY layout.

Its VGA touchscreen display is capable of operating in both landscape and portrait modes.

Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, a 528MHz CPU, a microSD expansion slot, FM tuner, multimedia playback and a front mounted VGAer for video calls are also included.

Early reports suggest that the Vario is optimised for email, SMS, multimedia messages, contacts and the calendar function.

It shares the Compact's 3.2-megapixel camera and HSDPA access, but also adds a built-in GPS receiver.

Talk time is 300 minutes and standby 320 hours.

And the final addition is the Ameo 16GB, which is a full size message station, complete with a large fold-out QWERTY keyboard.

It will run on Windows Mobile 6.1 and is set to arrive in July.

No dates yet on the other two models but we'll bring you these, and prices, as soon as we get them.
