Concept becomes reality

Introducing the Sony Sountina speaker - a towering beauty of glass loveliness.
The ultimate in sleek design, and offering non-directional sound, the Tubular speaker was first unveiled to the world a year ago as a concept design.
It uses a transparent organic glass tube which vibrates and expands sound to 360 degrees.
The speaker provides a frequency response of 50Hz-20,000Hz, features an input line, coaxial, optical, subwoofer (13cm), a medium speaker (7cm), and a tweeter made of organic glass.
It measures 325x1845x325mm at 12.5kg.
And those clever chaps at Sony have opted to go ahead and actually build them to grace penthouse, minimalist apartments in trendy cities around the globe - all you need is around 6500 euros.
The Sountina will be on shelves (in very posh shops) from 20 June.
