TeliaSonera has become the latest international mobile phone operator to make an iPhone announcement.

The Stockholm-based company has briefly announced it has signed an agreement with Apple to bring the iPhone to Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia later this year.

This follows a raft of similar announcements about Apple's mobile from Orange, Swisscom, SingTel and others, America Movil and Vodafone.

TeliaSonera provides telecommunication services in the Nordic and Baltic countries, in Spain and the emerging markets of Eurasia, including Russia and Turkey.

At the end of December 2007 the total number of TeliaSonera subscriptions exceeded 114 million in 18 countries.
