So it may not look like much not, but this technology from AUO could impact on the LCD products of the future.

The company has launched a range of curved LCD panels that are just over a half millimeter thick.

The curved displays are said to be the first built on glass substrate - which is very exciting is it not (errrm) and the manufacturer has to use a special thinning technology to make them.

Also unveiled were a series of TFT multi-touch panels, which are also super skinny.

The 1.9-inch TFT display is 0.63mm thick, and there are also 8-inch multi-touch TFT panels.

Now what they will appear in is anyone's guess, but it's fun imagining.
