JVC launches hard drive based camcorder

JVC has announced the release of its latest hard drive based camcorder the Everio GZ-MG70. The new model will carry on where the MG40 and MG50 left off. It, however will offer a 2.12 mega-pixel CCD chip and feature an internal hard disk drive with a 30GB capacity.

The camcorder, which promises to record between 7 hours and 37.5 hours of footage depending on mode you select aims to replace the need for stacks of media floating around.

The compact and lightweight design weighs 450 grams and includes a 2.5-inch clear LCD monitor and 10x optical zoom.

The camcorder also features a USB 2.0 interface enabling 60-minutes of saved footage to be transferred to a PC or Mac in 10 minutes.

The GZ-MG70 will become the flagship model in the range. Out in October this year, it will be priced around £750.

We will keep you posted.
