Licensing deal means UK set for Hello Kitty gadget invasion

Comment Retail Services Ltd has announced that it has entered into an agreement with Sanrio, owner of the Hello Kitty brand, to become the exclusive licence holder within the UK and Ireland for Hello Kitty branded mobile phones, MP3 players, MP4 players - and other electronic goods and services.

Comment now plans to develop a whole range of products and services featuring the "cute" cartoon character to be marketed in the UK and Ireland. These will include mobile phone handsets and other electrical hardware as well as accessories and content.

"Hello Kitty is an incredibly popular character and we are delighted to have secured this fantastic opportunity to bring her to mobile phones in the UK and Ireland", proffered a Comment exec.

Comment says it is working on "a number" of Hello Kitty mobile solutions to bring to market during the second half of 2008 with details to be revealed in your nightmares, sorry, nearer the time.
