Sony announces firmware update for PS3

Fixes "instability" of some PS3 titles, but not GTA IV

Sony has announced that firmware update version 2.35 is on its way for PlayStation 3, but that it only contains minor bug fixes.

On the official Sony blog Eric Lempel, director of PlayStation Network Operations, wrote: "I just wanted to give everyone a quick heads up that a PS3 firmware update (v2.35) will be released shortly. This is a relatively minor update to improve stability of some PS3 titles".

However, if you've been having problems with GTA IV on your PS3, this update won't solve that. Sony’s Al de Leon commented on the blog thread adding: "I just want to clarify that this ... firmware update isn’t related to GTA IV".

But worry not GTA fans, there is a solution out there.

"For those of you who may still have an issue playing the game on your PS3, we have identified a solution that should resolve the issue", said de Leon.

"You can contact SCEA Consumer Services for support — their contact info and hours of service, as well as more information on this issue, are available in our Knowledge Center."
