Deutsche Telekom chief executive Rene Obermann has revealed that the company's T-Mobile division has sold more than 100,000 iPhones since the Apple mobile launched in Germany back in November last year.

Speaking at Deutsche Telekom's annual general meeting Obermann said the iPhone was the "most popular multimedia device" sold by T-Mobile and that these sales levels meant the device was "meeting expectations".

iPhone tidbits revealed in an accompanying press release showed that German iPhone customers use the internet 30 times more on average than other mobile users and that one-third of T-Mobile iPhoners opted for the most expensive plan.

T-Mobile were the first carrier to dramatically cut the cost of the iPhone - down to 99 euros dependent on contract - in April this year, a scheme that the company said has been popular. Obermann would not comment on the possibility of a 3G iPhone.
