The final Service Pack for Windows XP has prompted hundreds of complaints from users who are experiencing PC problems as a result of installing the update.

Posters on Microsoft's Windows XP forum are reporting issues that vary from spontaneous or continuous reboots, driver failures, software issues and system crashes.

Microsoft released Windows XP SP3 on Wednesday of this week, it's now available via the automated Windows Update service or as a file from Microsoft's Download Center.

The service pack had been delayed due to incompatibilty issues. Microsoft has not yet announced whether it will issue another update to fix the problems as it has had to do with some previous updates.
