MySpace hopes that entertainment gossip fans will drive traffic levels even higher on the site.

The social networking site has launched a new entertainment channel called Scene Junkie. According to MySpace, the new channel will tackle "A-list celebrities and artists to fashionistas and rising stars" as it hopes to emulate the same excitement as it did with its music offering.

Users can check out who’s hot and discover new talent as well as enjoy a variety of exclusive news, features, pictures, videos and blogs updated daily.

The channel will feature a celebrity directory, profile UK’s favourite icons, offer exclusive videos, as well as looking at rising stars and people who are just "so hot right now".

Other features will include photo feeds from Sky Showbiz as other gossip news and the ability for MySpacers to send it photos of celebs they've spotted out and about.
