AMD is trying to drag itself from the doldrums with a new line-up of PCs aimed at business users.The AMD Business Class desktop personal computers were designed with the help of big names in the computing industry including Dell; and are hoped will finally give the ailing company something to throw back at competitor Intel.
The desktops include AMD Phenom X3 triple-core and AMD Phenom X4 quad-core processors as well as AMD Athlon X2 dual-core processors.
The platform will also support non-AMD graphics and chipsets.
AMD customers Acer, Dell, Fujitsu-Siemens, Hewlett-Packard, and Lenovo are all going to sell the PCs, and the notebooks that will arrive later on this year.
But will this initiative be enough to pull AMD into profit?
