Could save lives

A team in Portugal have designed a t-shirt that could save your life; and it doesn't look half bad either.

The Vital Jacket, designed by BioDevices, not only keeps you warm but also continuously monitors heart rate and ECG waves.

The t-shirt is expected to make a huge difference to people living with heart problems.

But the t-shirt, designed by the team at the IEETA institute of the University of Aveiro in Portugal, could also make an appearance in gyms.

Two versions are currently available although a price has yet to be set.

The HWM100 stores all its heart monitoring data on an SD memory card for further analysis on a PC later on, whereas people wearing the HWM200 boasts can keep track of their vital signs using using a smartphone/PDA.

One piece of advice though - don't put it in the washing machine.
