Phillips adds PET710, PET810, PET1000 portable dvd players to its ranks

Three new portable DVD players from Philips

Philips has announced three new portable DVD players that feature widescreen, high-resolution TFT LCD displays - ranging from 7in to 10.2in.

The flagship model called the highly catchy PET1000 offers a 10.2in screen while the next in the new range, the PET810 incorporates a sizeable 8in display. Both models have Divix and MPEG4 playback options alongside playing DVDs. The smallest of the trio, the silver PET710 comes with a 7in LCD screen and is geared towards the commuter.

All three players are compatible with most formats - DVD, DVD+R/RW,(S)VCD - plus you can listen and view CD, MP3-CD, CDRW discs.

They also all come with dual headphone jacks so you share the fun with travel companions and a complete accessory package is included in the box - remote control, car cigarette lighter adaptor, and a rechargeable battery pack giving 2.5 hours of playback.

The PET710 will cost £149, the PET810 £199 and the PET1000 £349.
