ASIMO to conduct symphony orchestra

Honda's humanoid to get musical

Honda is providing the Detroit Symphony Orchestra with a gift of more than $1 million to create "The Power of Dreams Music Education Fund" for disadvantaged kiddies.

That's all very nice, but what we think Detroit-based folk should be more excited about is that as part of the promotion, Honda's advanced humanoid robot, ASIMO, who we all know and love, will conduct the orchestra in a one-night-only performance.

ASIMO will no-doubt wow onlookers by conducting the orchestra as it performs "Impossible Dream" to open a special concert performance on 13 May. We expect YouTube vids will follow for those not lucky enough to attend...
