Toshiba has announced the arrival of its consumer-aimed new Satellite and Equium laptop series in the UK.

With models that range from "affordable everyday computing" to "powerful desktop replacements" the A300, U400 and P300 series laptops are all now available to buy.

Powered by the latest Intel and AMD processors alongside graphics technology from ATI and Intel, all models come with Windows Vista Home Premium and a DVD SuperMulti drive.

Claiming to offer a more "intuitive" computing experience, each chassis offers a textured palm rest and smooth touchpad, with metallic mouse buttons, whilst a quick launch multimedia control bar with feather-touch buttons and soft glow LED lighting gives instant access to videos, music, photos and gaming.

Integrated Harman Kardon speakers are also included on most models, coupled with Dolby Sound Room technology and an integrated web camera and built-in microphone come as standard.

All models also offer one great feature that will appeal to gadget lovers, "USB Sleep 'n' Charge" that allows MP3 players and mobile phones to be charged up - even when the laptop is in sleep or off mode.
