The chipmaker Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) is still in the doldrums and seems unable to boost its sales and compete with Intel.The company has reported its sixth quarterly loss in a row admitting a loss of $358m (around £180m) between January and March.
This is despite the fact that sales were up 22% on the same period in 2007.
This latest news comes after the announcement that AMD is to slice 10% of its global work force, resulting in a loss of about 1600 jobs.
