The web superstore has the gadget on pre-order with a price of £59.99 (down from the RRP of £80) and due to be released on 31 July.
PlayTV is the product that will turn the PlayStation 3 into a fully-fledged digital (or personal) video recorder.
The PlayTV gadget will boast dual TV tuners, so all current Freeview channels will be available, and offer a 7-day EPG.
Programmes will be recorded to on the PS3's hard drive to be watched back when suits you but could also be transferred to, and watched on your PSP.
No official word from Sony, but we'll update you if we hear from them.
UPDATE: Amazon has now changed the product page so no pricing or date is shown, with only the option to be emailed for more info nearer the time of launch. Sony got in touch to offer the following comment:
"We have yet to make an official announcement with regards to the release date and price of PlayTV in the UK, and we do not comment on rumour or speculation."
