Apple has applied for a patent for a laser-based headset that could be used with iPods and iPhones.

This design is particularly lightweight and unbulky compared to similar solutions on the market as it has a seperate pack (to be clipped on belts, or the like) that contains all the tech gubbins leaving the glasses as just receivers of the laser image.

We're not sure even Apple can make clipping something gadgety to your belt cool, but we'll happily wait and see if and when this comes to market.
