Archos to add GPS to PMP
So you won't get lost watching your movies
16 April 2008 13:22 GMT / By Stuart Miles
Archos is to launch a personal media player with built-in GPS capabilities so users won't get lost while watching movies.
The new model, which is expected to be based on the 605 Wi-Fi will be officially announced on Wednesday 23 April at a press event Pocket-lint will be attending in London.
Details are thin on the ground as to who will be providing the mapping data or whether, like other Archos offerings, there will be a subscription cost involved.
It is thought Archos is making the move to try and stay one step ahead Apple and its iPod touch and iPhone models both of which don't currently offer full satnav functionality.
Rumours on the Internet suggest that the both may get GPS features in new models expected later in the year.
We will bring you all the details from the event on the 23rd.
