Wayfinder "Power Search" launches for iPhone, iPod touch

Simultaneously search multiple databases

11 April 2008 9:51 GMT / By Amy-Mae Elliott

Wayfinder has announced the launch if its "Power Search" technology on iPhone and iPod touch.

Rather than being dependent on the one database, the Wayfinder technology allows a multitude of databases to be
simultaneously searched and compared.

This means iPhone and iPod touch users can access to information covering up to 100 million local search records around the world that links results to the map apps on the iPhone.

A user can enter a phone number, a person's name or a company name and the Wayfinder Power Search application will return relevant search results.

The search engine is based on Tele Atlas digital map data, to which information from a number of other premium databases is added, including - for a limited time - premium travel content from Wcities.
